Activated by a collaborative method it is our intention to use public art as a means to uplift, inspire, and connect a community. Combining the strengths of our individual art we have developed a new form that can be likened to dimensional painting, or freestanding murals. The work is a departure for each but derivative of past works and, like all art; it is an extension of our entire history. Together, we offer a unique combination of sculpture and painting, our affinity for our mediums of metal and paint resides. Our approach creates a role reversal for the mediums; the sculptural element is composed of flat symbiotic silhouetted shapes while the color-field painted surface ironically adds the illusion of dimension and depth to the flat forms. We seek to create works that are universally approachable and playful through a sophisticated and eloquent expression. - Jane DeDecker and Alyson Kinkade
Owned and operated by the father/daughter team of John Kinkade & Alyson Kinkade, JK Designs, Inc., represents the National Sculptors' Guild members plus several renowned painters. We are a Colorado corporation, established in 1992 with the sole purpose of finding thoughtful public applications for our artist's work throughout the nation. For each project, our design team selects a lead artist whose aesthetics best match the needs of the site and community. When appropriate, multiple artists can be utilized to create a cohesive collection that also has a breadth of style, subject, material and technique.
