'A Female Waterbuck with two calves in classic antelope form, she is using her head and neck to protect her offspring.
Brown granite is one of the hardest stones found in Zimbabwe. It is not usually used by Shona artists due to the difficulty of carving the stone and the time it takes to complete. This piece is truly a one-off masterpiece.
In the Shona language Zimbabwe means "House of Stone" dividing the country is the longest linear mineralogical mass in the world, laced with hundreds of different colored stones including verdite, butter jade, opalstone, cobalt and springstone.
