JK Designs’ Principal, John Kinkade, founded the National Sculptors’ Guild in 1992 with a handful of sculptors who wished to find thoughtful public applications for their work. Representation has since grown to over 40 contracted painters and sculptors on display at our headquarters, Columbine Gallery, plus an extended network of 200+ artists that our design team works with on a regular basis.

Our purpose is to champion a community of artists and to serve as a bridge between these artists and the public. Our primary goal is to allow the artists to stick to their strength - creating great artwork. We approach all aspects as a team which offers the client a wide variety of creative solutions to fulfill their unique needs. We also coordinate the many aspects involved in master planning and completing large-scale projects.

When appropriate the design team grows to include structural engineers, architects, landscape architects, light designers, fountain specialists, designers and contractors specific to each project from around the nation. Some we have worked with for over 20 years. Dependent on the nature of the project, JK Designs draw upon this knowledgeable group of professionals with proven accountability. JK Designs verify comprehensive insurance covering all parts of the commission including up to 5 years post installation for each project we undertake.

Support material demonstrates our history of success in completing over 450 public art installations ranging in budgets from $20,000 to $2.5 million; and a comparable number of residential and corporate placements since 1992. Most notably are six sculpture placements at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center Entry and additional placements along the Riverfront Park in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas; Twenty placements with the city of Cerritos, California; and ten installations with the city of Paramount, California; along with numerous placements in the Denver Metro area and throughout the nation.
