The massive, partially visible cube fills the 32-foot diameter site and towers 20-feet tall. Fabricated in stainless steel, each side has a large opening to enter into the structure. Designed to embrace pedestrians from the multiple trails that branch off from the site.
The stainless steel is pierced with a series of symbols derived from sacred geometry (placemakers are shown in design) This filigree patterning creates a dynamic, everchanging shadow play throughout the day.
Stone benches in the three interiors of each side, and one central triangular bench provides space for one to sit in contemplation and watch the play of light and shadow. At night, the piece transforms with lights shining the sides, allowing the sacred geometry artwork to glow from within and be seen from afar.
Plantings and steps to accommodate the grade difference will complete the site, anchoring the sculpture to the land and instilling a feeling that this sacred, cube has been in existence for ages.
